During the Inaugural Indie Author Day on October 8, 2016, libraries from all across North America will host their own local author events with the support of the Indie Author Day team. In addition to these local programs, each library’s indie community will come together for an hour-long digital gathering at 2 pm Eastern (12 pm Boise time) featuring Q&A with writers, agents and other industry leaders. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity for libraries and authors to connect on both local and global levels!
Be sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming announcement about the rock star industry specialists who will be talking about their experiences and giving advice during the digital panel.

5:30 – 7:30p.m. Meet at Cycle Learning Center. Join us for our weekly adventure on the local single track in the foothills! Gain confidence riding off road with a fun, non-competitive and welcoming group. Joining the ride is free. Mountain bike rentals are available at the CLC for $25 and include a helmet.
7 p.m. Morrison Center. CMoore Live presents Jackson Browne. Ticket prices range from $56-$76 with an eight-ticket limit. Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. 6 p.m. Student Union Building, Jordan Ballroom. One Sky, an international awareness group, presents ‘Maestra,’ a short documentary about the 1961 Cuban literacy campaign. The 33-minute film will be followed by a panel discussion, along with a book drive collection and opportunities for the audience to sign up as a literacy volunteer. This event is free and open to the public.
